PASSING OF SERGEANT KENNETH M. “SHARK” STEIL, ACTIVE SERGEANT ASSIGNED TO THE DETROIT POLICE DEPARTMENT’S 9TH PCT
On Monday, September 12, 2016, Sergeant Kenneth Steil was shot will attempting to apprehend a dangerous and violent perpetrator. On Saturday, September 17, 2016, Sergeant Steil died from his injuries.
The DPLSA has his wife Joann along with his sons Alexander and William and the entire Steil family, friends and colleagues in our hearts, thoughts and prayers! We also ask that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as well during the difficult days ahead.
Ken was an awesome individual and an outstanding law enforcement officer and supervisor and he will be missed! Ken gave the ultimate sacrifice making this a better and safer world! Ken is a hero and will forever live in our hearts!
