6th Annual Run With The Cops, Not From Them {0}
6TH ANNUAL “RUN WITH THE COPS, NOT FROM THEM!”
On Saturday, April 25, 2015, the For A Day Foundation and Heroes-Michigan, host its 6th annual “Run With the Cops, Not from Them!” charity fundraiser. Events include a 1-Mile walk/run and USATF certified 5K and 10K races on Historic Belle Isle. This is a fundraising effort where proceeds assist in creating emotionally therapeutic experiences for seriously ill children and providing them and their families with a joyful and much needed diversion from the strain of chronic treatments. Volunteers, many from DPD, provide hospital visits and entertainment for the kids, while also providing support to the families.
Chief James E. Craig will participate by shooting the starter pistol to kick-off the event at 9:30 a.m., for the 10K, 9:45 a.m., for the 5K, and 10:00 a.m., for the one mile fun walk/run. Donations: $20 for the 1-Mile, $30 for the 5K, and 10K, with group discounts of 5 or more receiving $5 off per registrant! There are medals for all finishers and prizes for various age brackets. Registrants receive free t-shirts, water and snacks. Day of Registration cost is $35.00.
DPD family and friends are encouraged to come out and support this worthy cause. Joining the event is Officer Mark Wallace as our DJ. Also, SRT will be there with their APC, Dive Team, Bomb Squad and Mounted Section. This event will be fun for the entire family!
