2017 DPLSA Health Care Open Enrollment {0}
Open enrollment begins on November 1, 2016 and will close on November 15, 2016. All changes are effective January 1, 2017. Please click here to view the 2017 open enrollment guide. Please also review the following important notes:
- During the enrollment period, you will be able to review your current plans, select/change your benefit plan options, add or remove dependents, or report other changes affecting your coverage. Active Employees married to a City of Detroit Retiree are now eligible to enroll their spouse for health care coverage effective January 1, 2017. Documentation is required.
- If you have a dependent who is totally and permanently disabled, you will be required to resubmit documentation during this open enrollment period (Form No. PA 275). If you do not submit this documentation, your dependent will be removed from coverage.
- If you have a dependent who is a full time student age 19 or older who is enrolled in dental or life insurance, you must resubmit proof of full time student status. IF you do not submit this documentation, your dependent will be removed from coverage.
- There is no vision enrollment for 2017. If you did not select vision coverage during open enrollment for the 2016 plan year, you will need to wait until open enrollment for the 2018 plan year to enroll or make a change.
- Dependents with missing or invalid Social Security Numbers (SSN) will be removed from coverage. Please log-in to review your dependents information to ensure it is accurate and complete.
- Please review and update your life insurance beneficiary during the open enrollment period.
