2018 Employee Benefit Annual Open Enrollment Begins November 1, 2017
For January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018 plan year
To All Benefit Eligible Employees
Open Enrollment is your annual opportunity to review and make changes to your benefits. During open enrollment you can:
- · Enroll in or change your current health plans
- · Speak directly with representatives from health care plans during Open Enrollment events
- · Renew or enroll your waiver of medical coverage
- · Add or remove eligible dependents
- · Renew or enroll in a flexible spending account for medical expenses, dependent care and/or commuter
All employees must enroll by either two ways:
1) Log into www.mydetroitbenefits.com to complete the enrollment process. All passwords have been reset to the default password.
2) Call (855) 224-6200 Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 7:00 pm Eastern Time. Due to the high number of calls received during the open enrollment period, you may be asked to leave a message. A customer service representative will return your call to process your enrollment. Please be sure to leave your name and a direct dial phone number in your message. YOUR CALL WILL BE RETURNED.
Review all medical, dental, vision, life and flexible spending needs for you and your family. The open enrollment period for the 2018 plan year begins on Wednesday, November 1 and will continue through Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

2018 Health Care Open Enrollment starts tomorrow Wednesday, November 1, 2017 through Wednesday, November 22, 2017. You are urged not to delay your selection because you are allowed to modify your election up and until the open enrollment period ends!
All employees must log on to the online system (www.mydetroitbenefits.com) or contact customer service at (855) 224-6200 to complete the enrollment process. All employees should visit this site during this period to enroll/maintain your coverage for the 2018 plan year.

Open Enrollment Package
An employee open enrollment packet has also been mailed to your home and emailed to your designated email address. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THIS PACKET TO MAKE YOUR ELECTIONS. The package includes the 2018 City of Detroit Health Care Plan Options booklet (also attached to this e-mail) which provides eligibility requirements and summaries of the health care plans in a format that permits easy comparison; the contribution for medical, dental, vision, life and flexible spending plans which provides the new contribution amounts that employees will be required to pay effective January 1, 2018. (Note: There are separate forms for the City’s medical Opt-Out Program. This form is not included in your packet. If wish to enroll in the City’s Opt-Out Program, please download this form from www.mydetroitbenefits.com.)
