TELETYPE # 15-0945 ULTIPRO HUMAN RESOURCES/PAYROLL SYSTEM-BIOMETRICTIME CLOCKS
The city of Detroit is planning the implementation of a new Human Resources/Payroll system. The software being implemented is called UltiPro. Members of the Detroit Police Department (DPD) are assisting with the implementation by providing system requirements, testing system programming, providing data for system conversion, and other preparatory tasks. DPD is also preparing policy on the use of the system, which will be published prior to the system go live date.
During the next sixty (60) days, DPD will prepare for use of biometric time clocks, which will be one method of capturing work hours in the new system. Employees using the biometric clock will be required to ‘swipe’ the clock using their DPD employee identification card and place their fingerprint on the clock to verify their identity.
Beginning this week, each employee will be required to present his/her DPD employee identification card to the Administrative Sergeant at each command. For commands located at Detroit Public Safety Headquarters, each employee will present his/her card to Police Personnel, between the hours of 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday. The cards will be examined and verified to be a card that is readable by the time clock. If a card is not readable, or an employee does not possess a DPD employee identification card (DPD security/building badges are NOT acceptable), that employee will be referred to Police Personnel during the hours noted above to obtain the proper card.
All cards must be obtained and/or verified no later than Monday, October 19, 2015, 5:00 pm. Additional information will be forthcoming with respect to capturing fingerprints for each employee.
Administrative Sergeants and all department Lieutenants will be notified with additional instructions via a separate email.
